Phil Dirt Reviews Tijuana Snakefight / The Creeper
Reverb Central is another awesome surf music website. Hosted and run by Phil Dirt it's an amazing place to find bands and read reviews by the reigning dean of the genre. Phil has been very kind to the Monarchs giving our debut album an awesome four star review. He was kind enough to also review the split 7 we just released with laramie Dean. Read below then buy the Vinyl version and get two free pins, OR download it here OR on iTunes.Phil Dirt Says: Both sides of this split single rip. The sound of the two tracks here are very similar in intensity and edge. Check this one out.
Laramie Dean - Laramie Dean Is The Creeper
Surf (Instrumental)
"Laramie Dean Is The Creeper" is much more interesting and powerful than the 2008 album Surf Riot. Its melody is on the spy side, but its energy and tone are rock all the way. Great bass and drums carry the edgy guitar tone well. Shortboard intense.
The Reigning Monarchs - Tijuana Snakefight
Surf (Instrumental)
"Tijuana Snakefight" is a fine surf instro, with an infectious energy, cool melody, big twang, and smooth changes. It's dramatic as it drops into the slow midsection, which rises back to high energy. Great drums and bass with very string guitar work.
